TravelNet Technologies Integrates Technology with ProCurve Networking by HP to Provide Guest Internet Access Solutions for Businesses

TravelNet and ProCurve recently worked together on the implementation of a cohesive guest access solution for Ottawa's premier accommodation and conference facility, Brookstreet, located in the city's thriving high-tech community. The integrated system allows guests to easily access high speed Internet services within the property's guest, meeting rooms and public areas. It proved unique by building off of Brookstreet's current infrastructure; consolidating new, secure high-speed Internet services with existing network services including Voice over IP (VoIP).

"At Brookstreet we've always prided ourselves on offering the latest technology services for our guests, and as such, we had a fairly advanced network already in place," said Troy Hughes, Director of Finance of the hotel. "We needed a solution that could offer new services for our guests, but also work with our existing network and not require us to re-build. TravelNet Technologies was the only vendor who guaranteed us that we would not have to rip out our initial network investment and that they could leverage our current valuable ProCurve infrastructure to integrate with our existing services."

TravelNet Technologies deployed their DataValet broadband solution to integrate with existing ProCurve Networking high- performance switches and extend high-speed Internet access throughout the hotel facility on a managed, mobile user basis. The solution also supported the hotel's existing Voice Over IP services, enabling billing and management of voice traffic to be consolidated over the common DataValet network.
